Most people think of restaurants in New York City as expensive, lavish, and stylish. However, there are plenty of restaurants in New York that don't fall into this stereotype and offer some of the finest food for lower prices. Next time you visit, here is a small list of the best restaurants in NYC that are worth eating at.
If you want great Italian food then consider dining at Peasant restaurant. It has some of the best Italian food I've ever had in New York City. It almost feels like you are entering a bomb shelter when walking into Peasant restaurant, but the atmosphere is much different inside the dining room. The interior is comprised of brick and wood and gives off a nice sense of home. Candles flicker on the tables and thick curtains adorn the walls. You'll find it to be a great date restaurant thanks to its beautiful, romantic setting. All the food here will just simply melt in your mouth and leave you wanting more.
If your stomach wants some good Japanese food then head to Ippudo restaurant. Ippudo is a little restaurant located in the wonderful East Village. A reservation is a must for this restaurant due to its popularity otherwise you will be waiting for an hour or longer to get a table. The food is delicious and worth every bite.
Another great Japanese restaurant you should really consider trying would be Morimotos. Yes, I am talking about Morimoto from Iron Chef America. You really feel as if you are being teleported back in time upon entering this restaurant. The staff at Morimoto's is professional, courteous and the food is absolutely incredible. You won't find many cheap options at this restaurant, but it's so good it is hard not to recommend.
Considering pizza? Then consider picking up a slice at Fornino. Brooklyn is the spot for this pizza, but if you want to trek outside of the busy NYC streets then it is more than worth it. Upon arriving you'll be taken in by the friendly atmosphere and then you'll enjoy some of the best pizza in New York. Want to take the family and enjoy a great night out? Then you can't go wrong with Fornino.
This article is just a fraction of some of the best restaurants in NYC. No matter what your mouth is in the mood for you can rest assured that New York will have it for you. I highly suggest venturing out on your own and exploring all the cuisine that New York has to offer.
